As most of you are aware, on Sunday March 29, President Trump encouraged thirty (30) more days of social distancing through the end of April because of COVID-19. Consequently, in an effort to honor our leaders and to demonstrate our love for our neighbors, we at Emory Baptist Church will continue our abbreviated and altered schedule and ministry events.

We will continue with the cancelation of our regular schedule through April 30.  We will reevaluate at that time.  This includes all activities that would normally meet during the day or on weeknights in addition to Sundays and Wednesdays.

Please know that even though our deacons are not meeting for their monthly meetings, I am in constant contact with them via email and text messages, and our Budget & Finance Committee is doing the same as they are constantly up to date on our income and expenses. However, our office will remain open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM except for the lunch hour of 12-1 PM.

Unfortunately, this abbreviated and altered schedule will include Easter Sunday, April 12. In the interim, we will continue live-streaming our Sunday AM Worship Service on Facebook, and a recorded video will be available afterward on YouTube to be viewed at your convenience.

Furthermore, here is what you can expect in the next thirty (30) days from each of our three (3) ministers:

Bro. Richard: Sunday morning sermons, Daily devotionals seven (7) days a week with five (5) of them including video; Wednesday morning Men’s Reading Group through Zoom Video Conferencing; continued pastoral care via telephone, text message, and email;

Bro Ronnie:  Wednesday evening sermons; Sunday School master teacher video for Romans; continued pastoral care via telephone, text message, and email;

Bro Chris: Sunday morning worship services; Wednesday evening worship service or rehearsal, continued pastoral care via telephone, text message and email.

If you have needs, please communicate with us in the best way for you.  We will do our best to minister to you.  Also, please continue to be faithful and generous in your financial giving. March was a good giving month for us as our giving exceeded our budget needs.   April will be a more accurate picture of our financial giving during this time since we won’t meet for four (4) consecutive Sundays.

I know everyone will not agree with this decision.  However, please do your best in understanding how it was made.  Thank you for your prayers and support.  God bless You!
