REAL STUDENT MINISTRIES
Emory Baptist Student Ministries
Philippians 1:9-11 says,
"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."
Paul prays that the Philippians' love for Christ would produce in them "epignosis," or "real knowledge." Paul's word implies a real sense of genuine knowledge and understanding that (as Paul continues) helps the Philippians know the right and best way to live. My vision for ministry is that I personally would live with this compass of knowing the things that really matter and living according to the leading of the Spirit. Further, I want to help others to find this depth of knowledge through obedience to the Spirit of God and the Word of God.
We have named the student ministry at Emory Baptist Real Student Ministry because we want to lead students to love Christ with a devotion that leads them into the "epignosis" of a life surrendured to Him.
RECOVERY MINISTRY
Help with Life's Hurts, Habits, & Hang-ups
If you want freedom from life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits we encourage you to check out Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday nights here at Emory Baptist Church. This ministry seeks to celebrate God’s healing and redemptive power in our lives through the “8 Recovery Principles” Celebrate Recovery is based on.
We invite you to use our ministry to experience change, allow God’s grace to help you solve life’s problems, and allow him to release you from your addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors that have been holding you back from authentic joy in your life. We meet in the fellowship hall. Childcare is available.
GREETER MINISTRY TEAM
Here to Serve
At Emory Baptist Church, we have greeters on Sunday morning to welcome and direct guests to Sunday School Small Groups and other areas of the church. If you're visiting Emory Baptist, look for someone with a nametag on a lanyard and ask for directions. If you are a member of Emory Baptist and interested in serving as a greeter, let us know.
Would you like to join one of our ministries? Give us a call today to join the many worshippers who are already calling Emory Baptist Church home.
